Open Air Green Sport is aimed at the development of virtuous circuits of Sport and Tourism with a focus on environmental protection and the fight against climate change.

The lead partner is Bellano Municipality, located on Lake Como, which will run the project with a network of local and international actors, such as the municipalities of Tremezzina, Varenna and Menaggio, Circolo Vela Bellano, Asd Remiera I Laghèè, Ebike Varenna, Waterbike Italia, ASD Nirvana Verde (Italy), City Council of Viana do Alentejo (Portugal), Junior High School of Livadochori Lemnos (Greece) and Aurelia EV (Germany).
The PP cooperates to set up and experiment a new offer of open air sports connected with an educational program on correct environmental behaviors. The activities are organized in the PP geographical and historical environment, with a special attention to environmental protection and knowledge of natural and artistic heritage; waste, energy, protection of biodiversity and ecosystems, health and active life will be the key issues addressed by these actions.
In particular, there are sport events associated with educational activities to be performed in Italy (rowing, sailing, water biking,
e- biking, orienteering) in Portugal (long distance and historical walks) and Greece (ancient pentathlon), involving the participation of young people aged 12-18 from each of those countries.
The project romotes the capacity building of the organizations and spreads awareness about the importance of environmental sustainability thanks to communication and dissemination activities.

The new sport-educational offer is integrated in the already existing one generating a lasting impact on the sustainable development of the communities involved.
The aim of our project is to take advantage of the common attractors of our area (central Lake Como) to build a sports-touristic offering that could educate to environmental and sustainability issues.
